Preparation:
- Prepare the surface of the vehicle
and the brown magnetic side of the sign
by cleaning, drying and waxing before
application.
Installation:
- The magnetic sign should have full
contact with a steel surface. Make
contact on the edge first and gently
let the full sign rest on the metal
surface, removing all air pockets. For
re-alignment, remove the full sign and
start over. Do not pull the magnetic
sign to straighten as it may stretch and
disfigure it.
- The magnetic sign should be at room
temperature when applied to a steel
surface.
- Do not apply magnetic over molding,
nuts, bolts, or rivets.
- Do not apply magnetic over newly
painted surfaces (allow 3 months for
paint to cure).
- Magnetic will not stay over patched
non-metal surfaces.
- Do not use over simulated wood
finishes (veneer finishes on vehicles) .
Temperature:
- The temperature of the surface of
the vehicle is unimportant, however the
sign should be at least 60 degrees
Fahrenheit for installation.
Maintenance & Cleaning:
- Remove magnet at least once a week
and clean both the magnetic and the
surface of the metal
product.
- Wipe dry both the sign and vehicle
clean.
Use a mild detergent in warm water to
clean the vinyl surface of the sign.
- On rainy or humid days remove the
magnetic signs.
- Keep a good coat of wax on the steel
surface.
Storage:
- Store magnetic pieces either flat or
in rolls. When storing in rolls, wrap
coated surface on the outside to avoid
the possibility of wrinkles. Make sure
the inside diameter of the rolls is no
less than 3” .
Rolling:
- To protect the sign from damage,
avoid wrinkles. Roll the sign with the
printed surface on the outside.
